Mike Boyd is the clan historian for the House of Boyd Society, an international organization that works to strengthen and research ties back to "the old country."  Mike has done much research on numerous trips to Scotland, Ireland, and England from his own home in Brisbane, Australia.
This evening's event will focus on general tips for research in Scotland, as well as tips on how one might make the connection between an ancestor's home in Scotland and arrival in the US.  Although Mike's specialty is the Boyd family, he will broaden his remarks for this event.

Bring along your own family history so you can get some help with finding where you came from!

It might also be noted that the Boyd family research includes the following families because of their close connection:

Gifford, Montgomery, Maxwell, Stewart, Colville, Somerville, Napier, Colquhoun, Campbell, Stockdale, Wallace, Kerr, Hamilton, Fleming, Craik, Cunningham, Ross, Livingston, Lockhart, Blair, Kennedy, Muir, Crawford, Reid and Hay.
